16/05/2026 The London Competitions team connected with producers, bartenders, distributors, and hospitality leaders at BCB London 2026 while exploring key trends shaping the future of the global spirits industry.

The team from London Competitions made a strong impression at this year’s BCB London, connecting with producers, bartenders, importers, distributors, and hospitality professionals from across the global spirits industry.

Over the course of the event, the LC team attended tastings, met with spirits brands, participated in seminars and events, captured behind-the-scenes moments, and joined conversations around low and no alcohol beverages, premiumisation, packaging, cocktail culture, RTDs, sustainability, and the future of spirits marketing.

For Malvika Patel, editor at Beverage Trade Network and London Competitions, BCB London continues to be one of the most energetic and commercially valuable events in the drinks calendar.

“BCB London has incredible energy,” Patel says. “You have bartenders, spirits brands, distributors, hospitality buyers, and media all in one place sharing ideas, tasting products, and discussing where the industry is heading.”

The London Competitions team spent the event actively capturing the events across the show floor, including producer interviews, social media collaborations, tasting moments, and event highlights designed to showcase both the people and the brands driving the premium spirits category forward.

“We wanted to capture the personality of the event,” Patel explains. “Not just products, but also the people, conversations, creativity, and innovation happening throughout BCB London.”

The team also met with several current and past entrants of the London Spirits Competition, discussing export growth, distribution challenges, on-trade visibility, and how awards continue to play an increasingly important commercial role for spirits brands globally.

“Many brands today are using awards as part of their overall growth strategy,” Patel says. “Winning recognition helps with importer conversations, bar placements, retail discussions, social media marketing, and consumer trust.”

The event also gave the LC team an opportunity to strengthen relationships across the spirits industry while expanding the competition’s visibility among new and emerging producers.

“There’s so much innovation happening in spirits right now,” Patel says. “From craft distillers to premium global brands, everyone is looking at how they can better connect with consumers and trade buyers.”

As BCB London wrapped up, the London Competitions team also officially opened entries for the 2027 London Spirits Competition — which will mark the competition’s 10th anniversary edition.

Entries for 2027 are now officially open,” Patel says. “We invite spirits brands and distilleries from around the world to enter early and secure Super Early Bird pricing as we prepare for our milestone 10th anniversary year.”

According to Patel, events like BCB London are becoming increasingly important not only for networking but also for building year-round visibility through content, media, and trade engagement.

“Today the industry moves fast online and offline at the same time,” she says. “Trade shows are no longer just about booths. They’re about content creation, storytelling, relationship building, and staying visible across multiple channels.”

Throughout the event, the LC team shared live moments, tasting highlights, producer meetings, and behind-the-scenes coverage through Instagram reels and social media content designed to bring followers directly into the atmosphere of BCB London.

“We had a great few days meeting producers, filming content, and speaking with people across the trade,” Patel adds. “BCB London continues to be one of the best places in the UK to understand where the spirits industry is heading next.”
